Begin your adventure at the dock in Port San Luis, where you’ll receive a basic kayak lesson and an introduction to local water safety. Equipped with wetsuits, water shoes, and windbreakers, set out on a guided paddle along the scenic coastline. Glide past playful sea otters, curious harbor seals, and lively sea lions, while your guide shares insights about the marine ecosystem and the history of Avila Beach and Port San Luis.
Pause at Whaler’s Beach to explore tide pools filled with sea glass and basalt, and enjoy a light snack on the sand. After your break, walk up to the Point San Luis Lighthouse property, where you’ll join a docent-led tour inside this historic landmark. Take in spectacular coastal views and learn about the lighthouse’s fascinating past.
Throughout the tour, your guide will capture at least 50 photos of you and your group, so you can focus on the experience without worrying about your phone.
The tour concludes back at the starting dock, leaving you free to continue exploring Avila Beach or relax by the water.
