2:30 PM | Step Back in Time: San Giorgio di Valpolicella We begin in one of Italy’s "Borghi più belli" (most beautiful villages). High atop a limestone ridge sits the Pieve di San Giorgio, an 8th-century Romanesque church. The Highlight: Wander through the ancient cloister and soak in the "postcard-perfect" panoramic views stretching from the mountains all the way back to Lake Garda.
4:00 PM | The Art of the Amarone: Wine Cellar Visit No trip here is complete without entering the sanctuary of a celebrated local winery. The Tour: Go behind the scenes to see the fruttaio (drying rooms) where grapes wither to concentrate their sugars.
