Piero Dri, master oar maker, welcomes you to his workshop—a place where oar locks, the supports used in Venetian rowing, are made by hand, and where each piece is unique, carved with patience and precision.
During the visit, you can take a close look at the tools of the trade, some of which have been handed down for generations, and watch a demonstration of how they are made. Every object has a story and every gesture reveals centuries of tradition. In some cases, you may even have the opportunity to touch the materials and try your hand at making something.
