Walk south through the alleys of Castello until you reach Campo Santa Maria Formosa, a lively square with a church famous for its two facades in completely different architectural styles.

Cross the hidden bridges and canals that connect Castello to the San Marco district, emerging under the imposing Procuratie and entering Piazza San Marco from the side of the Clock Tower. Get an overview of the square and its main monuments, including the magnificent Basilica di San Marco.

Enter the Doge's Palace and explore the majestic Sala del Maggior Consiglio, home to Tintoretto's monumental painting "Il Paradiso."
