Over 3 hours, you’ll explore a lively local market and surrounding streets while tasting classic Roman street food and homemade dishes. Expect pizza by the slice, Roman-style sandwiches, fresh pasta with traditional sauces such as carbonara, amatriciana, and cacio e pepe, paired with carefully selected wines. The tastings are generous and equivalent to a full meal.

Your local guide will take you to five handpicked stops, including market stalls and wine spots, while sharing stories about Testaccio’s working-class roots and ancient past. Learn about Monte Testaccio — the hill made of ancient amphora fragments — the former slaughterhouse (ex-mattatoio) and the neighbourhood’s role as Rome’s historic river port.

At the end of the tour, enjoy a sweet maritozzo with whipped cream and an espresso.
