Explore Cologne's oldest street, Hohe Straße, and learn about the rich history of the quarter surrounding it. Admire the breweries, traditional pubs, monastries, churches, and carnival clubs along the tour. Admire Cologne's medieval City Wall and catch a glimpse of what Cologne looked like in 1180. Also, take a moment to see the Basilica of St. Severin, an early Romanesque basilica church established in the late 14th century. Along the tour, see the many big traditional carnival clubs and fountains in the city. End at Severinstorburg, one of the four surviving city gates from the Middle Ages. Today, the big carnival parade begins here, but it was once how kings and nobles entered Cologne.
