Experience Bonn on a guided tour through the military heart of the Republic and immerse yourself in the history of German rearmament and the Cold War. Begin your journey in front of the Museum König, the place where the Basic Law was adopted, and learn how defeated Germany redefined its role in the Western Alliance. At the Federal Foreign Office, discover the diplomatic challenges of the rearmament, which was prepared in secret. On Adenauerallee, learn how the population reacted to these developments, from early protests to mass demonstrations against intermediate-range nuclear missiles. The Hofgarten bears witness to this social resistance and the influential student movement. This guided tour shows Bonn as the military heart of the Federal Republic and is ideal for history buffs and anyone who wants to understand how Germany came to have its current army. Discover how these historical events shape Germany and Europe to this day.
