Our stop in Bad Dürkheim combines fascinating knowledge with an authentic wine experience. We will walk together to the impressive saline – the historic graduation house – where you will feel the soothing, salty breeze and learn exciting details about salt extraction in days gone by. The famous Dürkheim giant barrel, the largest barrel in the world, is an absolute visual highlight. Here, you will listen to the intriguing stories of its creation and learn why, although it was never filled with wine, it is an absolute monument to Palatinate wine culture. Right next door is the legendary Brühlwiesen Square, home of the Dürkheim Sausage Festival. You will learn firsthand how the world's largest wine festival has evolved from a medieval market to today's cult event.

The grand finale of this tour is a wine tasting – first in historic surroundings with the flair of Roman times and then at a select top winery in the region. You will sample the fine wines of the Palatinate – first and foremost, of course, the lively Riesling, for which the region is world-famous.
