Begin your experience with a warm welcome and introduction to Belding Hill Farms, a family-owned heritage farm in rural New Brunswick. Meet your hosts, Luke and Jill, and learn about the farm’s rich history, which has been in the same family for over 240 years.
Next, embark on a guided tour of the farm, where you’ll meet a variety of animals, including heritage breed Large Black Hogs, sheep, lambs, cattle, calves, horses, donkeys, ducks, chickens, rabbits, cats, and livestock guardian dogs. Hear the individual stories of the animals, many of which have names and unique personalities.
Depending on the season and what’s happening on the farm that day, you may have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities such as feeding animals, collecting eggs, or assisting with simple morning chores. Learn about sustainable food production, gardening, animal husbandry, and small-scale farming.
Throughout the visit, engage in conversations with your hosts about the realities of modern farming, heritage livestock conservation, food production, seasonal living, and the importance of local agriculture. Enjoy the peaceful countryside and take photographs with farm animals and scenic rural landscapes.
This experience is designed to create memorable personal connections between people, animals, food, and the land, while preserving and sharing the heritage, traditions, and values that have shaped this farm for generations.
