商品説明
Step into Łódź’s industrial past at the Central Museum of Textile Industry, located in Ludwik Geyer’s iconic White Factory. Your guide will explain how a small settlement of just one thousand inhabitants transformed into a half‑million textile powerhouse.
During this 1.5‑hour tour, you will explore the award‑winning City–Fashion–Machine exhibition — a futuristic, multimedia journey across three floors, honored with multiple prestigious awards including Museum Event of the Year. It tells the story of work, fashion, technology, and everyday life in Łódź through an immersive, contemporary narrative.
You will walk through reconstructed streets lined with shop windows of legendary Polish fashion brands — Telimena, Cora, Moda Polska — which shaped Polish style for decades. You will also discover modern Łódź fashion labels that continue this creative tradition. Your guide will share stories of the city’s rapid growth as well as its hardships, including the post‑1989 crisis when 100,000 textile workers lost their jobs.
You will also learn how entrepreneur and immigrant Ludwik Geyer reshaped Łódź by building the White Factory complex — today home to one of the world’s most important collections of contemporary textile art. This is where the prestigious International Triennial of Textile Art takes place, the oldest and largest event of its kind globally.
After the guided tour, your guide will be happy to lead you to the demonstration area. Live presentations of historical looms take place every hour. (First presentation: 13:00; Last presentation: one hour before the Museum closes)
This is a unique opportunity to feel the noise, rhythm, and vibrations of the machines that powered Łódź’s textile industry for generations.
