Embark on a 2-day hiking adventure through the heart of the Tatra Mountains, starting from Krakow and crossing into Slovakia via the iconic summit of Rysy. This tour is designed for active travelers seeking a challenging yet rewarding experience, combining breathtaking alpine scenery with expert guidance and rich storytelling about the region’s natural and cultural heritage.
Day 1: Zakopane → Five Lakes Valley → Mountain Hut Stay
Your adventure begins in Zakopane, Poland’s mountain capital. After meeting your guide, transfer to the trailhead and begin your hike into the High Tatras. The route leads you through one of the most scenic alpine landscapes in Poland—the breathtaking Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich. Surrounded by dramatic peaks and crystal-clear glacial lakes, this area offers a perfect introduction to the rugged beauty of the Tatras.
Along the way, your guide will share insights into the formation of the Tatra Mountains, local flora and fauna, and mountain culture and traditions. In the afternoon, arrive at a traditional mountain hut, where you’ll enjoy dinner and rest for the night, immersed in the peaceful alpine environment.
Day 2: Morskie Oko → Rysy Summit → Slovakia
After an early breakfast, the second day begins with a scenic descent toward the iconic Morskie Oko, one of the most famous lakes in Poland. From here, the trail becomes more demanding as you ascend toward Rysy. This section includes steep terrain and chain-assisted passages, rewarding your effort with spectacular views from the summit—the highest point in Poland.
At the top, stand on the natural border between Poland and Slovakia, enjoying panoramic vistas across both countries. The descent continues on the Slovak side, offering a different perspective of the High Tatras before concluding the tour.
