Your experience begins with pickup in Rovaniemi and a scenic drive towards Riisitunturi. As you leave the city behind, the landscape transforms into a peaceful winter wonderland of snow-covered forests, frozen lakes and untouched wilderness.
Riisitunturi is famous for its breathtaking winter scenery and heavily snow-covered trees. Far away from the artificial lights of Rovaniemi, the national park offers excellent conditions for enjoying the dark Arctic sky and searching for the Northern Lights.
Throughout the evening, your experienced local guide will monitor cloud cover, weather conditions and Aurora activity to determine the best possible locations. Since the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, the route can be adjusted according to the conditions to give you the best chance of finding clear skies.
Once you reach a suitable location, step outside into the peaceful Arctic night and look towards the northern sky. If the Aurora appears, watch as green and other colours begin to dance above the snowy landscape. Your guide will help you find the best viewpoints and can assist with photography so you can capture memorable images of the experience.
There will also be time to simply enjoy the surroundings. Listen to the silence of the Arctic forest, breathe in the fresh winter air and experience Lapland far away from the crowds and city lights.
