Your journey begins with a guided hike through beautiful fell scenery to the top of Lampivaara hill. At the summit lies an exposed 200-million-year-old amethyst deposit. While enjoying the stunning views, your guide will share stories and insights about this fascinating and mystical gemstone.
Once you’ve learned the basics, it’s time to dig for your own amethyst. With a bit of luck, you’ll find a unique stone to take home as a memorable souvenir—one that is said to bring good fortune to its finder.
After the mine visit, we gather around an open fire to enjoy traditional Finnish snacks in the peaceful surroundings of the fell. This relaxed moment by the campfire is the perfect way to unwind, share stories, and soak in the quiet beauty of Lapland’s nature.
We then continue to Pyhätunturi, where we take a scenic chairlift ride to the top of the fell. As you rise above the treetops, the landscape opens up in every direction, revealing vast forests and rolling hills.
