Discover the snowy landscapes of Lapland on an easy excursion through the forests of Vikaköngäs, specially designed so that families with children can enjoy the Arctic nature without having to tackle a demanding route.
After getting kitted out with winter clothes and boots, we'll head for the Vikaköngäs Forest, located in the surroundings of Rovaniemi.
Upon arrival, we'll cross the hanging bridge over the rapids, one of the most special points on the route, and begin a leisurely hike through the snowy forest. During the walk, the tour guide will share interesting facts about the nature of Lapland, the animals that inhabit these forests, and how life changes during the Arctic winter season.
We'll continue along the trail until we reach an observation tower, from where we can take in the views of the forest, the river, and the snow-covered landscape. We'll make various stops along the way to enjoy the surroundings and take photos.
On the way back, we'll stop at one of the traditional laavus in the area. There, we'll light a fire and prepare a small Lappish BBQ with sausages, accompanied by a hot drink, while we rest and enjoy the forest.
After lunch, we can finish the experience by making marshmallows over the fire before returning to Rovaniemi.
An ideal excursion for families who want to explore the forests of Lapland, play in the snow, and experience their first adventure in the middle of nature in a comfortable and relaxed way.

Know Before You Go: The route is approximately 3 km along a snowy trail, with some slightly uneven stretches. Although the route is quite easy, we do not recommend it for children who cannot yet walk the route on their own.
Know Before You Go: A minimum of 2 participants is required for the activity to operate (3 on Sundays). If the minimum is not met, the activity may be canceled and a change of date or a full refund will be offered.
