4-DAY UYUNI & ALTIPLANO ADVENTURE

Begin a 4-day journey from San Pedro de Atacama through Bolivia’s remote Altiplano and the Uyuni Salt Flats. Travel by 4x4 across colorful lagoons, deserts, volcanoes, geysers, and extraordinary high-altitude landscapes.

DAY 1 – SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA TO THE ALTIPLANO

Begin with pickup in San Pedro de Atacama and travel to the Chile-Bolivia border. Complete border formalities and cross into Bolivia at Hito Cajón, where you will change vehicles and begin the 4x4 expedition.

Visit the White and Green Lagoons beneath Licancabur Volcano before crossing the surreal Dalí Desert. Continue to Polques Hot Springs and Sol de Mañana, an impressive geothermal field with steaming fumaroles and bubbling mud pools.

Finish at Laguna Colorada, famous for its red waters and Andean flamingos. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in Polques or Huayllajara in a basic local accommodation with a private room and private bathroom.

DAY 2 – DESERTS, FLAMINGOS & VOLCANOES

After breakfast, cross the spectacular Siloli Desert and visit the famous Stone Tree. Continue through the Altiplano to the Chiarcota, Hedionda, and Cañapa lagoons, where flamingos can often be seen surrounded by volcanic landscapes.

Visit a viewpoint overlooking Ollagüe Volcano and continue across the Chiguana Desert toward San Juan. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in a basic local accommodation with a private room and private bathroom.

DAY 3 – UYUNI SALT FLATS

After breakfast, travel toward the Uyuni Salt Flats, the largest salt flat in the world. Visit Incahuasi Island, home to giant centuries-old cacti and panoramic views across the Salar.

Explore the endless white landscape and enjoy time for creative perspective photos. Visit the Salt Eyes, Playa Blanca, former Salt Hotel Museum, Dakar Monument, and Flags of the World.

Continue to Colchani to discover traditional salt processing and local handicrafts. Finish the day at Uyuni’s historic Train Cemetery, filled with old locomotives from Bolivia’s mining past.

Spend your third night in Uyuni in a basic local accommodation with a private room and private bathroom.

DAY 4 – RETURN TO SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA

After breakfast, begin the return journey toward Chile. Travel through the spectacular high-altitude landscapes of the Bolivian Altiplano and continue to the Bolivia-Chile border.

Complete the required border formalities at Hito Cajón and continue by transfer into Chile. Travel through the Atacama Desert back to San Pedro de Atacama, where your private 4-day adventure across Bolivia’s Altiplano and the Uyuni Salt Flats comes to an end.
