Embark on a full-day scenic adventure from Santiago to the majestic Inca Lagoon, located at the Portillo Ski Center, at an altitude of over 2,800 meters. This sightseeing tour combines history, nature, and Andean culture, and is ideal for travelers seeking direct contact with high-mountain landscapes without the need for technical experience.
Along the way, you'll ascend the International Route to the Andes, with scenic stops at natural vantage points where you can photograph the Central Mountain Range and, if you're lucky, spot condors. Upon arrival in Portillo, you'll have time to enjoy the iconic view of Inca Lagoon, whose turquoise blue waters are surrounded by imposing snow-capped peaks.
Accompanied by a local guide, you will hear the famous legend of the Inca Illi Yupanqui and his beloved Princess Kora-Illé, a story that gives this sacred lagoon its name. You'll then go on a mild exploration hike along the shore, ideal for breathing fresh air, learning about the Andean flora and fauna, and disconnecting from the urban pace.
