This is not a sightseeing tour, it’s a real experience at sea. You’ll be involved in the entire fishing operation: preparing bait, setting traps, and hauling up the crab pots. If you’re after something active, authentic, and thrilling, you’re in the right place. And what’s the reward for your hard work? A well-earned meal, of course. After fishing, we’ll prepare a delicious King Crab dish on board, and trust us, after working on deck, you’ll feel you’ve earned every bite. During the trip, our crew will guide you through the fascinating story of the King Crab in Norway, how it arrived, its biology and behavior, and the impact it has had on local ecosystems and coastal communities over the last 50 years.
The activity starts at the office, where every guest will have to put on some suits (oilskin in summer and thermo suit in winter). Afterward, the guide will walk with you to the boat, where the captain will meet you for a safety briefing and an overview of the activity. You will then navigate to the crab pots and begin the fishing maneuvers, which the crew will explain. On the way back, the crew will prepare a king crab dish for you on board. The trip duration is 3 hours.
