Experience a Norwegian tradition: spending time outdoors together around a warm fire.
Meet your local host at Sognsvann Metro Station, a short journey from central Oslo. From there, head to a peaceful spot by the forest lake, where the bonfire and Norwegian food await.
Settle in by the fire and taste a selection of local flavours, including reindeer, moose, Norwegian sausages, cured meats, cheeses, flatbread, lompe and local jam. Your host will introduce the food and share what outdoor life means to people in Norway.
You can grill your own sausage over the fire, warm up with hot chocolate, coffee, tea or a lingonberry drink, and finish by roasting marshmallows. Take time to enjoy the lake, the forest and the relaxed atmosphere.
If the ice and weather conditions are safe, there may also be an opportunity to try ice fishing. This is an optional seasonal activity and cannot be guaranteed.
The experience takes place outdoors. Dress warmly and wear suitable winter footwear so you can enjoy your time by the lake.
