This guided walking tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and takes you through Katendrecht, Rotterdam's former red-light district, once known for its sailors, lively bars, Chinatown, and criminal underworld. Discover the area's notorious past as well as its remarkable transformation into one of the city's most vibrant neighborhoods.
With plenty of authentic Rotterdam humor, Captain Nath Need shares fascinating stories, local history, and unforgettable anecdotes that are guaranteed to leave you laughing—and with tired feet from all the walking!
During the tour, you'll also visit the area named "De Kop van Zuid", home to Hotel New York, the New Luxor Theatre, and the former departure hall of the Holland America Line. An optional visit to the iconic Holland America Line ship, the SS Rotterdam, can also be included.
Participants meet at the front of the entrance of the ship SS Rotterdam at the agreed time, where Captain Nath Need will already be waiting to welcome everyone and begin the journey.
