In the heart of the gentle loess terraces of Wagram, one of the most distinctive wine regions in Austria, the Leth Winery welcomes you for an unforgettable wine experience. For three generations, the Leth family has been cultivating its 52 hectares of organic vineyards with passion, idealism, and a clear commitment to nature – without herbicides, without insecticides, and with 100% hand-picking.
During your visit, you will first receive a personal guided tour of the cellar and the winery: You will learn how wines full of character are made from the unique loess soil with its layers up to 20 meters thick, how the modern press cellar works, and what the famous prime locations of the traditional Austrian wineries are all about. A special highlight: probably the largest living grape variety museum in Austria, with over 230 different grape varieties, created by Franz Leth Sr. out of pure love for the diversity of vines.
Afterwards, you will taste a hand-picked selection of the best wines of the house, from the spicy, peppery freshness of a Grüner Veltliner from Ried Scheiben to the exceptional Roter Veltliner from Fumberg, to mineral Rieslings and velvety red wines. The house sparkling wine is also available on request. Each wine is accompanied by information about the terroir, vintage, and vinification.
The Leth winery is certified organic and sustainable, a member of the Austrian Traditional Wineries, and has received multiple awards, including first place at the Falstaff Grüner Veltliner Grand Prix and at the SALON Österreich Wein. If you find a favorite at the end, you can take it with you directly from the winery.
