商品説明

Step off the beaten path and immerse yourself in Iceland’s untouched wilderness with an expedition that matters. For decades, Krossárjökull has sat unmonitored until Katla Geopark's Citizen Scientist program. This one-of-a-kind expedition offers adventurers the chance to explore a hidden glacier outlet while contributing to vital environmental research.

Begin your day with a stunning drive through the iconic highland destination of Thorsmork. Marvel over the colors, shapes, glacier-fed river crossings, and other picturesque features.

Take a guided trek through a secluded offbeat canyon, which leads to the stunning Krossárjökull Glacier. This moderate 1-1.5-hour hike (each way) takes you far from crowded tourist trails and into Krossárjökull's domain. After a safety brief and equipment lesson, gear up.

Take time to marvel at the glacier’s natural beauty, from surreal dead ice formations to the mesmerizing depths of the glaciers features. This untouched gem offers an exclusive look at one of Iceland’s least-visited glacial areas.

Join your expert guide in mapping the glacier’s terrain. Your participation helps monitor the glacier’s history, health, and contributes to ongoing glacier mapping studies used now and for future generations.

Enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by jaw-dropping scenes. Learn about the glacier’s history and its role within Katla Geopark from your knowledgeable guide, who will connect the dots between Iceland’s natural wonders and the forces that shape them.
