Leave Reykjavík for a four-hour adventure that combines an off-road buggy ride with a walk and soak in Reykjadalur’s naturally warm river.

After pickup in Reykjavík, meet your guide and receive a safety briefing. Put on the provided insulated overall, balaclava, and helmet, then learn how to operate your fully automatic, road-legal 4x4 buggy.

Drive from Hólmsheiði toward Hellisheiði through lava fields, moss-covered terrain, riverbeds, gravel tracks, and steep hills. Follow the historic Thousand Waters Route toward Ölkelduháls, with wide views across Iceland’s rugged landscape.

Park above Reykjadalur and continue on foot into the geothermal valley. Walk for about 25 minutes to the natural bathing area, where warm water, steam, and the surrounding hills create a memorable place to relax. Bring a swimsuit, towel, and sturdy walking shoes.

The experience lasts approximately four hours. Guests aged 8 and older can participate. A valid driver’s license is required to drive. Shared rides normally place two guests in one buggy, with up to four seats available. Select a single ride if you want your own buggy.

Hotel pickup and drop-off in Reykjavík are included in this KKday option. Exact pickup details will be confirmed the day before the tour.
