Leave Reykjavík in the evening for a four-hour adventure that combines a nighttime buggy ride with a search for the northern lights.

After pickup in Reykjavík, meet your guide at the Buggy Iceland base and receive a safety briefing. Put on the provided insulated overall, balaclava, and helmet, then learn how to operate your fully automatic, road-legal 4x4 buggy.

Set out into the winter darkness beyond the city and neighboring mountains. Powerful lights on the buggies illuminate the rugged trails as you ride through Icelandic scenery far from Reykjavík’s glow.

Stop by a hot spring high in the mountains and watch the sky for the aurora. When the northern lights appear, switch off the buggy lights and enjoy the colors above the dark landscape. Sightings depend on weather and solar activity and cannot be guaranteed.

The experience lasts approximately four hours and operates from November through March, with departure at 7:00 PM. Guests aged 8 and older can participate. A valid driver’s license is required to drive.

Shared rides normally place two guests in one buggy, with up to four seats available. Select a single ride if you want your own buggy.

Hotel pickup and drop-off in Reykjavík are included in this KKday option. Exact pickup details will be confirmed the day before the tour.
