Embark on a memorable adventure into Iceland’s volcanic highlands, visiting the stunning Askja caldera, deep within Vatnajökull National Park. Discover impressive volcanic formations, including Lake Askja—one of Iceland’s deepest lakes—and the turquoise geothermal crater Víti.
Travel in a specially designed 4×4 bus through lava fields, glacier rivers, and breathtaking mountain scenery. Feel like an astronaut for a while, be it from Apollo 11 or Artemis II - they all left their marks here. Your knowledgeable guide will share insights into the area's geology and history along the way. You will have a chance to refill your bottles with fresh Icelandic spring water on the way and breathe in the fresh air of the highlands.
After a scenic drive with stops at interesting sights, you'll have 2.5 hours to explore Askja Lake and enjoy spectacular views. A short hike takes you to the lake, and you can even venture into Víti crater if conditions permit.
