Step into the quiet beauty of the Arctic night on a guided snowshoe adventure in the winter wilderness near Kiruna.
After pickup in Kiruna, travel away from the city lights and into a snow-covered landscape surrounded by forests and Arctic nature. Your guide will provide the snowshoes and show you how to use them before you begin your journey through the winter landscape.
Follow your guide along snowy trails and through peaceful forest while your headlamps light the way. Experience the special atmosphere of the Arctic after dark, where the snow, silence and night sky create a completely different feeling from a daytime winter excursion.
Along the way, pause beneath the stars and experience the stillness of the Arctic wilderness. If conditions are right, you may even see the Northern Lights dancing above you. The aurora is a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed, making every evening in the Arctic unique.
During the tour, stop at a wilderness campfire where you can warm up, relax and enjoy hot cocoa while roasting marshmallows over the flames. Your guide will share stories about Arctic nature, winter life in Kiruna and the surrounding environment.
After the campfire break, continue your snowshoe journey through the winter darkness before returning to Kiruna.
No previous snowshoeing experience is required. The tour is designed to be accessible to beginners while still offering an authentic Arctic outdoor experience.

Know Before You Go: This activity takes place outdoors in Arctic winter conditions and includes walking on snowshoes over snowy and sometimes uneven terrain. No previous snowshoeing experience is required, but a basic level of fitness is recommended. Thermal overalls, winter boots, warm hats, snowshoes, trekking poles and headlamps are provided. Please bring warm gloves and wear warm layers underneath the thermal overall. The route and duration of the snowshoe hike may be adjusted depending on weather and snow conditions. Northern Lights may be visible during the tour, but as they are a natural phenomenon, sightings cannot be guaranteed.
