Don't miss the Dune du Pilat Express !

Departing directly from your accommodation in Bordeaux at 9:30 AM, it is a private tour for up to 4 people (no shared van). During the whole tour, your friendly guide is here to answer all your questions about the area, local customs, history, Bordeaux, le Bassin d'Arcachon, and so on!

Your local guide will take you through the iconic Landes pine forest on the way to the Dune du Pilat — Europe's tallest sand dune and one of France's most breathtaking natural wonders.

Then it's time for the highlight of the tour (and your day): the amazing Dune du Pilat. Your guide will lead you to the top of this magnificent 110-meter high dune, where a stupendous panoramic 360° view awaits: the Atlantic Ocean stretching to the horizon, the endless green carpet of the Landes forest, and the tranquil waters of the Arcachon Bay with the Cap-Ferret in sight.
An hypnotic view you won't forget. Your guide will show you around this natural splendor as only the locals know it.
You'll have free time to soak it all in at your own pace — sit, explore, take photos, or simply breathe in the salt air. You will spend a good hour on the Dune, leaving plenty of time to enjoy this special natural place. Feel free to bring some snacks if you want to enjoy a sweet time.

On the way back, a scenic drive and stop (about 30 minutes) in a traditional oyster fishing village on the Arcachon Bay offers a glimpse into the authentic local way of life. Watch the oyster farmers at work and take in the charm of this picturesque harbour — a truly local moment. Your guide will tell and show you everything about this local tradition.

You will be back in Bordeaux by 1:30 PM — leaving you with sweet (and salty) memories and ready for a good lunch in Bordeaux.

NOTE: There is no stop for lunch included during this tour. If you wish to add time for a lunch stop to taste some oysters, please contact me.

  • Know Before You Go: - For groups of 4 people, please note that 3 people will be seated in the back (including 1 person in the smaller center seat) and 1 person in the front (5-seat sedan).
