Escape Bordeaux for a relaxing full-day trip to the Atlantic coast and discover the highlights of Arcachon Bay in a small group of just 2 to 8 participants. This experience combines elegant seaside charm, scenic coastal landscapes and time to enjoy the famous Dune du Pilat area at a gentle pace.
Your day begins with departure from central Bordeaux aboard a comfortable air-conditioned minivan. As you travel through the pine forests of the Landes region, your guide introduces the history of Arcachon Bay, known for its oyster culture, Belle Époque villas and unique coastal scenery.
Upon arrival in Arcachon, discover the famous Winter Town (Ville d’Hiver), a historic district filled with elegant 19th-century villas and quiet tree-lined streets. Learn how Arcachon became one of France’s most fashionable seaside resorts during the Belle Époque period.
You then enjoy free time in central Arcachon for lunch and personal exploration. Stroll along the waterfront promenade, browse local shops, admire the bay views or choose one of the many cafés and seafood restaurants for a relaxing lunch by the sea.
In the afternoon, continue along the scenic coastal road passing Pereire Beach and the charming district of Le Moulleau, known for its holiday atmosphere and waterfront villas. The route leads to the beautiful La Corniche area, facing the iconic Dune du Pilat and the entrance to Arcachon Bay.
Here, enjoy free time to take in the spectacular coastal scenery. Depending on your preference, you can relax with a coffee overlooking the bay or walk down toward the beach at the foot of the dune for a peaceful seaside stroll on the sand.
