A BIT OF HISTORY A manuscript from 1396 kept in the estate's archives mentions the purchase of Champs de Cris. It is still planted with vines today and still belongs to the Domaine du Château de Tracy. In 1586, François Stutt married Françoise de Bar, who gave him the Seigneurie of Tracy as a gift. Through their marriage, the descendants of the Count of Assay and his younger brother, François Stutt, the current owners of Château de Tracy, reunited the two branches of the same family that had been separated for nearly four centuries.
THE ESTATE TODAY
Château de Tracy stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Loire, in a commune that bears its name. A beautiful Renaissance portal adorns the façade with understated elegance. A medieval keep towers above the high slate roofs.
