The city has been seen many times on TV and films. This tour will take you around all the sights of York, (such as York Minster, the Shambles, the River Ouse, as well as many lesser-known areas) with an emphasis on their screen appearances. Discover where scenes were filmed for recent TV shows like Patience and Bodies, as well as major movies such as Chariots of Fire, Elizabeth and the Horrible Histories movie Bill. See locations from costume dramas, including Death Comes to Pemberley and Gentleman Jack and fantasy dramas such as Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell. Along the way find out about actors and writers from York. A 2-hour round walking tour of York, which starts and ends at Exhibition Square. Led by your tour guide Chris, who’s been guiding for many years in York and who also worked at ITV for 7 years and had other roles in the media. Chris leads other tours in the city as School Tours of York and is a member of Visit York. This is his only tour for non-school groups but would also be suitable for students studying Media subjects at school, college or university. Risk assessed, insured, and registered with HMRC.
