London: National Gallery Private Tour - Da Vinci to Van Gogh｜United Kingdom

Experience a private tour at the National Gallery. Discover how painting was used to promote religion and power across time, from early icons to Renaissance, Baroque and modern art.

You will encounter works by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Michelangelo, where careful observation brings new depth to the depiction of Christ. Their paintings transform how sacred figures are understood.

The journey continues with Baroque art, where the use of light and realism creates powerful, immediate scenes that draw the viewer directly into the moment.

It then extends into later developments, including Impressionism and modern art. Works by Van Gogh and Monet reveal new ways of seeing the world through colour and perception.

Along the way, the tour considers how painting supported both religious and royal authority, shaping ideas of belief, power and identity across different periods.

Selected works are used to illustrate these changes, offering a clear and focused route through the collection.

Throughout the experience, the focus remains on how painting evolves: from symbolic images to lifelike presence and into later and modern interpretations of art.

The tour also explores how nudity is used in art, including its role within Christian imagery. It also touches on themes inspired by classical mythology and ancient history.
