Our Loch Ness tour from Invergordon promises to enchant, whether you’re a veteran visitor or are travelling to the Highlands for the first time. As soon as you disembark from your ship at the Invergordon cruise port, around an hour after the ship arrives, you will be met by one of our friendly local guides, whom you’ll recognise by their Historic and Scenic Tours placard bearing your surname. You’ll be escorted to one of our comfortable cars or minibuses, where complimentary snacks and bottles of water will be available for your tour. Visit some of the most historic and cultural sites in the Highlands, starting with Robertsons Farm and Beauly Priory before moving on to the famous and romantic Loch Ness. Then travel to Inverness to see Saint Andrew’s Cathedral before continuing to historic Culloden Battlefield and the sacred site of Clava Cairns, home of the famous Outlander “cleft stone”. From Clava Cairns, it is just a short drive towards Cawdor Castle. We will spend around 1 hour 15 min here. Take some time to wander the beautiful walled gardens and natural woodlands while taking in the castle’s extensive history dating back as far as 1180. The castle is a popular destination and a must-see, not least for its connection to the Shakespeare play Macbeth. Cawdor Castle was built as a private fortress by the Thanes of Cawdor. It is an ancient medieval tower built around the legendary holly tree. Uniquely for a Scottish castle, Cawdor boasts three very different gardens, each with its own history. Generations of owners have transformed and extended them over the years. Today, visitors can explore the Walled Garden, the Flower Garden and the Wild Garden before the tour returns to Invergordon Port.
