On this family-friendly walking tour of Caernarfon lasting an hour and a quarter, you will pick up all the key sites in the Royal town, including seeing the best views of Caernarfon Castle from outside and getting great photo opportunities of the landmarks.
You will explore Caernarfon's meandering streets, see and learn about the Hanging Tower where convicts were executed, the gateways into the Medieval town walls, St Mary’s Garrison Church and bell tower, historic houses and statues, the Slate Quay harbour and the Swing Bridge across the River.
Discover treasures that you would not normally see without a tour guide and get recommendations of the unique independent shops to explore and places to eat.
Your tour is led by Melissa, a local guide with a university degree in history, heritage and archaeology. Melissa is also a fluent Welsh speaker.
As an optional add-on, the Caernarfon town tour can be extended with a guided visit to Segontium Roman Fort. Walk within the remains of the longest-held Roman Fort in Wales and learn about the artefacts uncovered during archaeological excavations, and what life was like living in the Fort.
