Travel England Tours Ltd is a multi-award-winning tour experience company. Begin your adventure in the heart of London or your preferred location, setting the stage for an immersive exploration of the legendary Battle of Britain.

The Battle of Britain (July–October 1940) was the World War II air campaign in which the Royal Air Force (RAF) defended the United Kingdom against large-scale attacks by Nazi Germany’s Luftwaffe. It was the first major military conflict fought entirely in the air and marked Hitler’s first significant defeat.

By August 1940, intense daylight battles raged over southeastern England. When RAF raids hit Berlin, Hitler retaliated by ordering the bombing of London and other cities, beginning the Blitz. This strategic shift gave Fighter Command time to recover. On September 15 — now commemorated as Battle of Britain Day — the RAF inflicted heavy losses that convinced the Germans they could not achieve air superiority. Operation Sea Lion (the invasion of England) was postponed indefinitely.

We begin at the Polish War Memorial in Ruislip, Middlesex, where we learn about the arrival of Polish fighter squadrons in 1939 and 1940 and recognise their bravery.

Whisk away to Uxbridge, Middlesex, where you'll step into the very bunker that served as the strategic command centre for Fighter Command No. 11 during World War II.

Discover the tireless efforts of RAF plotters and controllers who held the line against the Luftwaffe, all while experiencing the profound impact of Winston Churchill's iconic words.

Then, seamlessly transition to the fascinating world of the Bletchley Park tour, where you'll delve into the secretive realm of WWII codebreakers who changed the course of history.
Bletchley Park is a historic country estate in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England.

During the Second World War, it served as the United Kingdom’s main code-breaking centre, where intelligence teams decrypted Axis communications, most famously the German Enigma and Lorenz cyphers. The site is now a museum and heritage attraction exploring wartime innovation and the dawn of modern computing.

From 1939 to 1946, Bletchley Park’s mathematicians, linguists, and engineers—among them Alan Turing and Gordon Welchman—developed techniques and machines that intercepted, decrypted, and analyzed enemy messages. Their success in cracking Enigma and other ciphers, distributed as “Ultra” intelligence, shortened the war and saved countless lives. Winston Churchill called its staff “the geese that laid the golden eggs and never cackled.”
