Start your journey of discovery in the heart of Munich's avant-garde. After a brief introduction to the history of the Lenbachhaus, you'll dive straight into the revolutionary world of the Blue Rider – the group of artists that, at the beginning of the 20th century, turned the art world upside down. The tour focuses on Wassily Kandinsky's masterpieces. You'll learn how he found his way to abstraction and why his compositions changed art history forever. Looking at the originals, you'll see how color and form became independent means of expression. Next up is Franz Marc, whose vibrant animal depictions are more than just beautiful pictures. Understand the spiritual dimension behind his blue horses and red deer, and discover why animals meant access to a purer truth for him. A special highlight is Gabriele Münter, the long underestimated pioneer of modernism. Her powerful landscapes and portraits showcase an independent artistic voice. The tour combines art history expertise with personal anecdotes about the artists, their relationships, and their lives in Murnau and Munich.
