Day 1
Transfer from Cape Town & Sunset Game Drive
Your safari adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or Cape Town International Airport. Sit back and enjoy the scenic drive through the Cape Winelands and Route 62, a journey that reveals changing landscapes—from lush vineyards to the vast, open plains of the Little Karoo. Upon arrival at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge near Oudtshoorn, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing drink and checked into your luxury tented suite. After settling in, enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge’s restaurant, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding bush and a waterhole. In the late afternoon, embark on your first open-vehicle game drive. As the sun sets, keep your eyes open for lions on the prowl, elephants heading to the water, and other wildlife emerging as the cooler evening approaches. Return to the lodge for a restful evening under the African stars.
Day 2
Elephant Experience & Afternoon Game Drive
Wake up to the sounds of nature and enjoy a hearty breakfast at the lodge. Today’s highlight is a unique and unforgettable elephant experience. Accompanied by experienced guides, you’ll meet the lodge’s rescued elephants and have the chance to walk beside them, observe their behavior, and learn about their stories and conservation. This ethical interaction is respectful and informative, providing a deeper connection to South Africa’s wildlife. After your time with the elephants, return to the lodge for a relaxing lunch. Spend your afternoon enjoying the lodge’s tranquil surroundings before setting off on your second game drive. As the sun dips below the horizon, the bush comes alive with nocturnal sounds and movement—perfect for spotting predators and rare species. After the drive, unwind with dinner (optional) or relax by the campfire.
Day 3
Morning Game Drive & Return to Cape Town
Your final day begins early with a sunrise game drive—one of the best times to witness active wildlife in the cooler morning air. Watch as the savannah stirs to life and catch glimpses of species you might have missed earlier. After the drive, return to the lodge for a relaxed breakfast. Once you’ve had time to freshen up and say farewell to Buffelsdrift’s peaceful landscape, your driver will be ready to transfer you back to Cape Town. Reflect on the unforgettable experiences of the past few days as you journey through the Karoo, back to the city. You’ll arrive in Cape Town in the late afternoon, refreshed, inspired, and full of stories from the wild.
