The ancient city Taroudannt is protected by ramparts built in adobe of ochre color constituting a wall full of history.
The structure of its walls evolved under the different dynasties that once reigned in Morocco: the Almohads, the Merinides and especially the Saadians. The ramparts encircling the city are about 8 km long counting 130 towers and 19 bastions of connected corners. The ramparts include 5 gates to the city: Bab Al Kasbah, Bab Zorgan, Bab Targhount, Bab Oulad Bounouna, Bab Al Khemis. To cope with increased population and traffic, new doors were built in recent years like: Bab Leblalia, Bab Ben Yara, Bab Agafay, Bab El Hajr (Bab Jdid) ... etc. 30 km from Taroudant, the landscapes of Tiout are breathtaking. A village, overlooking a splendid palm grove, welcomes you in the middle of it. You will not resist the magical experience of the famous donkey ride to explore this small green haven. Dominated by a Kasbah dating back to the Saâdienne period (16th century), the Tiout valley seduces you by the simplicity and hospitality of its inhabitants as well as by the diversity of its landscapes: argan trees, olive trees, orange trees, palm trees, etc. You will have the opportunity to taste the typical local cuisine (tagine, couscous). The donkey trek leading you to a water source as well as the visit of women's cooperatives (production and marketing of argan oil and its derivatives) are essential
