Discover the natural charm of the Buzau county on a day trip from Bucharest. Explore the Slanic Mine in Prahova, one of the most spectacular salt mines in Europe.
Our first stop will be at the Unirea Salt Mine in Slănic, Prahova which is
a former salt mine transformed into a large underground tourist attraction. The mine dates back to the 17th century, with modern exploitation beginning in 1852 and opening to the public in 1970.
Various facilities are arranged for tourists such as: sports fields, children's playgrounds, activity areas such as air hockey, billiards, mini-golf and carting. The salt mine also has a souvenir shop and a grocery store, and for relaxation there is a cafe. On the surface, tourists can see the saltwater lake and the waterfall, as well as a museum where you can see machinery used for salt mining.
Then, we travel to Buzau county for a wine tasting session. Wine tasting is the process of examining and sensory evaluating wine, including appearance, smell, and taste. It typically involves five steps: observing the color, swirling the glass to release the aromas, smelling, tasting, and enjoying the wine. The goal is to understand and appreciate the characteristics of the wine.
After that, travel back to Bucharest. Relax on the drive back through the Carpathians, reflecting on a day filled with nature, history, and culture.
The journey takes approximately 8-10 hours depending on traffic.
