商品説明
Welcome to northwest Qatar, a region where heritage, nature, and contemporary art meet in the open desert. Our journey begins in Al Khor and Purple Island, known for its mangroves and rich history linked to ancient purple dye production. The peaceful coastal scenery offers a glimpse into Qatar’s maritime past.
From there, we continue to Al Jemail (Jamel) Village, an abandoned pearling and fishing village that tells stories of traditional Qatari life before the oil era. Walking among its old coral-stone houses gives a strong sense of history and resilience.
Next, we visit Al Zubarah Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This beautifully restored fortress stands as a symbol of Qatar’s 18th-century trading prosperity. The surrounding archaeological site reveals the remains of a once-thriving town.
Our adventure continues to Zakreet, famous for its dramatic limestone rock formations shaped by wind and time. The landscape here feels almost otherworldly. Nearby, you will experience Richard Serra’s iconic “East-West/West-East” sculpture—four towering steel plates stretching across the desert, blending modern art with vast natural space.
Finally, we pass by the Camel Racing Track, where one of Qatar’s most traditional and exciting sports takes place. This journey through northwest Qatar offers a perfect blend of culture, history, art, and desert beauty.
