Continue your scenic mountain drive to Jebel Akhdar and stop at the famous Diana’s Viewpoint, named after Princess Diana, where you can enjoy panoramic views over deep canyons and dramatic mountain landscapes. Discover ancient marine fossils naturally found in the rocks of the mountain area, showing that this region was once under the sea millions of years ago.
Visit a local Soap & Fragrance Factory to learn about traditional Omani products made from rose water, herbs, and natural mountain ingredients. During the rose season, the area is especially beautiful with blooming terraces and the scent of fresh roses in the air.
Enjoy a lunch stop at a local restaurant (optional) or bring your own meal and relax surrounded by mountain scenery.
Explore the charming old villages of Al Suwjara and Wadi Bani Habib, known for their abandoned stone houses, traditional falaj irrigation systems, terraced farms, walnut trees, pomegranates, and peaceful mountain atmosphere. Experience part of the famous Three Village Walk, where you can enjoy easy walking paths with incredible views of the valleys and villages.
On the way back, stop at Birkat Al Mouz Old Village, one of Oman’s most beautiful oasis villages, surrounded by palm plantations and ancient mud houses. Visit the Banana Coffee Shop area, where you can relax with Omani coffee while enjoying views of the date plantations and traditional falaj irrigation channels. See the historic Al Katmyn Irrigation System and enjoy beautiful viewpoints overlooking Birkat Al Mouz before driving back to Muscat.
