Muscat: Jebel Hatt Overnight Camping Tour with Meals｜Oman

Day 1: Muscat – Nizwa – Jebel Hatt

Depart from your hotel in Muscat after breakfast and head to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Admire the mosque's stunning architecture and the world’s largest handmade Iranian carpet, which weighs 21 tons and can accommodate up to 20,000 worshippers.

Continue to Nizwa, the former capital of Oman, and visit the famous Nizwa Fort. Explore the fort, which is now a museum, and enjoy splendid views of the ancient town and surrounding mountains. Next, head to the Nizwa Souk, where you can browse and purchase Omani silver crafts and other handmade items.

After your time in Nizwa, visit Al Hamra Old Village and the mountain village of Misfah Al Abryeen, home to some of the oldest preserved houses in Oman. Then, continue to Jebel Hatt, located at about 2000 meters above sea level. Enjoy sweeping views of the different wilayats from the top of the mountain before setting up camp for the night.

Day 2: Jebel Hatt – Wadi Bani Awf – Nakhal – Muscat

After breakfast, head to Wadi Bani Awf, a large wadi in Al Rustaq with several villages and attractions, including the well-known Snake Canyon. Next, visit Bilad Sayt, a stunning mountain village tucked between the Western Hajar mountains.

Continue to the famous Nakhal Fortress, a 350-year-old fortress that rises out of the mountain rock. Explore the fortress, which is packed full of hidden escape routes and secret passages, and enjoy outstanding views over the mountains and green date plantations.

After the fortress, drive through the old village of Nakhal to visit Nakhal Hot Springs. Relax in the warm river water and see locals walking in the water. Finally, visit the Bait Al Ghasham Museum in the village of Al Shal’li, a treasure house of archaeological and architectural wonders, before returning to Muscat.
