Begin your experience at the Sea Gate, the grand entrance to Kotor’s Old Town, where your guide welcomes you with a short introduction. Your first tasting awaits nearby at the reach Kotor’s historic Open Market. Taste a selection of locally produced prosciutto, cheeses (cow, goat, and sheep), homemade fig or berry jam, and sweet Montenegrin wine . These flavors set the stage for a deeper dive into the region’s traditions.
Next, stroll through Kotor’s charming stone streets, stopping at landmarks like the Saint Tryphon’s Cathedral. Your guide brings this site to life with stories of Kotor’s most famous building.
As you continue past the Square of the Museum and the old Karampana fountain, walk through Saint Luke’s Square, you’ll visit a specialty shop to sample local olive oil, olive pâté, and honey brandy, tasting the land’s richness while learning how these products are made and used in local households.
You’ll admire the beautiful Romanesque and Byzantine churches, and exit briefly through the North Gate. After the North Gate your guide will lead you to the main square, The Square of Arms.
