Embark on a 4-day hiking adventure from Mestia to Ushguli, one of the most iconic trekking routes in Georgia’s Svaneti region. This unforgettable journey takes you deep into the Greater Caucasus Mountains, where dramatic landscapes, ancient villages, and warm local hospitality create a truly unique experience.
Over approximately 55–60 km, you’ll hike through lush valleys, alpine meadows, and rugged mountain terrain, reaching elevations of up to 2,700 meters. Each day offers new scenery—from forest trails and wildflower fields to glacier viewpoints and panoramic ridgelines.
Along the way, you’ll stay in traditional family-run guesthouses, where you’ll enjoy authentic Georgian cuisine and experience the rich culture of the Svan people. Evenings are spent relaxing, sharing meals, and connecting with locals in remote mountain villages.
The highlight of the trek is crossing the Chkhunderi Pass, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of glaciers and surrounding peaks. The journey concludes in Ushguli, a UNESCO-listed village set beneath Mount Shkhara, the highest peak in Georgia.
This experience is perfect for travelers seeking adventure, culture, and stunning natural beauty—all without technical climbing.
