Day 1: Arrival in Axum
Meet your guide at Axum Airport. Begin exploring the ancient capital of the Aksumite Kingdom. Visit the impressive stelae field, the archaeological museum, and the Church of St. Mary of Zion (exterior), believed to house the Ark of the Covenant. Explore the ruins of the Queen of Sheba’s Palace.
Overnight in Axum.
Day 2: Axum to Gondar
Take a morning flight to Gondar. Visit the Royal Enclosure (Fasil Ghebbi), a UNESCO-listed complex of 17th-century castles built by Emperor Fasilides. Continue to Fasilides’ Bath and the stunning Debre Berhan Selassie Church, famous for its angel-covered ceiling.

Day 3: Gondar to Bahir Dar (Lake Tana & Blue Nile Falls)
Drive to Bahir Dar. Take a boat cruise on Lake Tana to visit historic island monasteries such as Ura Kidane Mihret, known for its vibrant religious paintings. In the afternoon, visit the Blue Nile Falls (seasonal water level).

Day 4: Bahir Dar to Lalibela
Take a morning flight to Lalibela. Begin exploring the first cluster of rock-hewn churches, carved directly from solid volcanic rock in the 12th century under King Lalibela. Discover underground passages and remarkable architectural details.

Day 5: Lalibela Churches Exploration
Visit the remaining churches including Bete Medhane Alem and the iconic Bete Giyorgis (St. George). Optional hike to Asheton Maryam Monastery for panoramic views and cultural encounters.
