From Quito: 2 Day Baños Waterfalls & Sangay Hotel Stay｜Ecuador

Day 1: Cotopaxi National Park, Quilotoa Lagoon, and Baños
Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Quito. Travel southeast to Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of Ecuador’s most iconic volcanoes. Upon arrival, enjoy a walk around Limpiopungo Lagoon, where, depending on weather and conditions, you may have the opportunity to observe native birds, wild horses, and the famous chuquiragua, known as the “Flower of the Andes.” Surrounded by spectacular volcanic landscapes and high-altitude páramo, this is a perfect opportunity to connect with Ecuador’s unique natural environment.

Continue through the Western Andes mountain range towards the spectacular and enigmatic Quilotoa Lagoon. From the viewpoint, admire the turquoise waters of this volcanic crater and its breathtaking surrounding landscape.

In the afternoon, continue to Baños de Agua Santa, a charming town famous for its thermal waters, waterfalls, adventure activities, and its location at the foot of Tungurahua Volcano. Upon arrival, enjoy some free time to explore this picturesque town at your own pace. Spend the night in Baños.

Day 2: Baños, Waterfalls, and Quito
After breakfast, begin your exploration of Baños and its spectacular natural attractions. Your first stop will be the impressive Pailón del Diablo Waterfall, where you will enjoy a walk along the trails leading to this spectacular waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation.

Cross the Pastaza River by cable car (tarabita) at either Manto de la Novia or Agoyán Waterfall, depending on local conditions. Next, visit the famous Casa del Árbol, where you can enjoy the iconic giant swing and spectacular views of the surrounding Andean mountains.

After an exciting day exploring the waterfalls and attractions of Baños, begin your journey back to Quito.
