商品説明
Discover the wilder side of Playa Avellanas on a 2.5–3-hour walk led by a local biologist or naturalist. Starting at Cabinas Las Olas, follow the forest edge and a local road that serves as a wildlife corridor. Your guide takes time to look for monkeys, tropical birds and the plants that support them. Continue into the mangrove and estuary, where fresh and salt water meet. Look for crabs, birds and other wildlife while learning why this habitat matters. Explore the beach and intertidal zone, observing smaller coastal creatures and picking up litter along the way. Finish the walk reaching the iconic Rochelles Mangrove Bridge, a symbol of conservation. Learn its story and take a final look at the mangroves before returning to the meeting point. Wildlife sightings vary, and the roughly 2-mile route may change with the tides; crossing the estuary can mean getting wet. You'll also learn about the mangrove conservation project led by Oropopo, its guides and the Avellanas community. Your booking includes a $2 contribution per participant. Choose a small-group walk or a private experience with a more flexible start time. Meet your guide at El Puente restaurant inside Cabinas Las Olas in Playa Avellanas. Transportation is not included; contact us in advance if you would like help arranging it through a third-party provider for an additional charge, subject to availability.

Know Before You Go: Expect an easy-to-intermediate 2-mile (3.2 km) walk over forest paths, a local road and muddy ground. We cross the estuary even at high tide; the water may reach your waist. Wear clothes that can get wet and bring water shoes or secure strap sandals. Flip-flops are not permitted. The route may vary with the tides. The walk lasts about 2.5–3 hours. Private start times can be arranged in advance; early morning or late afternoon is best.
