Leave the beaches of Jacó behind and discover a completely different side of Costa Rica on a full-day journey into the lush Central Valley and volcanic highlands.
Your day begins with an early pickup from your accommodation in the Jacó area. Relax and enjoy the changing scenery as you travel from the warm Pacific Coast into the cooler mountains and some of Costa Rica’s most important coffee-growing country.
Your first major stop is Doka Coffee Estate, where you'll begin with an included breakfast surrounded by the beautiful plantation landscape. After breakfast, discover the journey behind one of Costa Rica's most famous products during a guided coffee experience. Learn about coffee cultivation, harvesting, processing, and roasting while exploring the plantation and enjoying the sights and aromas of Costa Rican coffee country.
After your coffee experience, continue through the highlands toward Poás Volcano National Park, home to one of Costa Rica's best-known active volcanoes. Enter the national park and walk to the volcano viewing area, where you'll have the opportunity to admire the dramatic volcanic landscape and crater area. Visibility depends on weather and volcanic conditions, so clear crater views cannot be guaranteed.
After visiting Poás, continue through beautiful mountain scenery toward La Paz Waterfall. Make a short roadside stop near the waterfall to enjoy the view, take photographs, and appreciate another of the region's striking natural landscapes.
As you begin the journey back toward Jacó, your host can recommend a convenient local restaurant where you may stop for lunch at your own expense. This gives you the flexibility to choose what and where you'd like to eat.
Then settle back into your transportation and enjoy the scenic return journey to the Central Pacific Coast and your accommodation in Jacó.
This full-day experience is ideal for travelers staying at the beach who want to experience Costa Rican coffee culture, an active volcano, mountain landscapes, and a beautiful waterfall, all in one memorable day without changing hotels.
