Discover the magic of Monteverde at night with the Santamarias Night Walk Tour. Located just five minutes from Santa Elena, this family-owned property offers a unique blend of lush forest, sustainable agriculture, and rich biodiversity. Guided by local experts, you’ll explore a 6-hectare property that has been in the Santamaria family since 1948 and dedicated to conservation since 2005.
Begin your journey at dusk, where the transition from day to night reveals the hidden world of nocturnal wildlife. Spot mammals like sloths, raccoons, coatis, and coyotes, as well as amphibians, snakes, and a variety of insects. Listen to the sounds of the forest come alive and observe the fascinating behaviors of creatures that thrive in the dark. Along the way, your guide will share insights into the region’s flora, including the iconic Ficus trees, and the property’s sustainable coffee, sugarcane, and banana plantations.
This immersive experience is perfect for nature enthusiasts and those looking to connect with Monteverde’s unique ecosystem. The tour concludes back at the starting point, leaving you with unforgettable memories of the forest’s night life.
