Start your Costa Rican wildlife adventure with morning pickup from San Jose, Alajuela or the surrounding areas and set off for a day combining monkeys, crocodiles, local scenery, and time at the beach.
Your first wildlife experience is the Monkey House, where you'll spend approximately 30-45 minutes enjoying an up-close encounter with the area's monkeys. Take photos, observe their playful behavior, and enjoy one of the day's most memorable wildlife experiences.
After your visit, continue through the coastal community of Caldera, stopping briefly at the Caldera sign for another photo opportunity before heading toward your crocodile adventure.
Next, drive to Tarcoles river to experience one of Costa Rica's most impressive wild animals during an approximately one-hour crocodile tour. Explore the river environment and observe massive American crocodiles in their natural habitat while also keeping watch for tropical birds and other wildlife found throughout this important ecosystem.
After your crocodile experience, make a stop at a local souvenir shop, where you'll have an opportunity to browse for Costa Rican gifts and keepsakes.
Then it's time to slow things down. Finish your adventure with a relaxing stop at the beach. Enjoy the Pacific scenery, unwind after your wildlife experiences, and enjoy a light fresh-fruit snack before beginning the comfortable journey back to your pickup location.
