商品説明
On this tour you taste your way through more than ten Azerbaijani dishes, and at every plate you play the same game: is this ours, or did we borrow it?
It starts at a working city bazaar - the one Baku households actually shop at, not a restored courtyard. Your guide walks the herb, spice, cheese and dried fruit rows with you and explains what everything is, what it costs a local, and what it is used for. You are not there to shop; you are there to see how the city feeds itself.
Then a local table on Nizami Street: more than ten Azerbaijani tastings - mezze, grilled plates, salads, pastries, and a few things visitors are almost never offered. Baku ate from every direction - Persia, Anatolia, the Caucasus, Russia - and kept what it liked. With every plate, you guess first; your guide answers after.
We finish over a full Azerbaijani tea set: armudu glasses, sweets and homemade jam, and the full story behind what you guessed. You go home with a gifted mix of Azerbaijani herbs and spices so the flavours carry on in your own kitchen.
Two departures daily: 11:00 for a midday table, or 16:00 if you would rather make an evening of it. No more than 8 guests, or private on request. Guided in Persian, Turkish or English. Vegetarian and halal versions available with advance notice.

What To Bring: Comfortable shoes
Know Before You Go: Tell us about any dietary requirements before your tour and the kitchen will prepare vegetarian or halal versions of the tastings.
Know Before You Go: Choose the departure that suits you: 11:00 for a midday table, or 16:00 for an evening one. The tour runs about 4 hours either way.
Know Before You Go: The tour involves walking and a taxi ride between stops and time on your feet at a working bazaar, so comfortable shoes are recommended.
Know Before You Go: Come hungry. The tastings are generous and are followed by a full portion of the dish you choose.
