Private Excursion to the Andes from Mendoza: Full Day to Aconcagua
There are landscapes that take your breath away. The private excursion to the Andes from Mendoza is one of those experiences.
In a single day, you'll venture into the Argentine Andes along the legendary Route 7, crossing ancient valleys until you reach the foot of Aconcagua, which at 6,962 meters is the highest peak in the Americas and the entire Western Hemisphere.
This is not a bus tour. Every detail—vehicle, tour guide, pace—is reserved exclusively for your group.
The route
The day begins with pickup from your hotel in Mendoza between 7:00 and 8:00 AM and continues for 10 to 12 hours in a westerly direction.
Potrerillos Dam: A turquoise reservoir framed by the stunning Andean cliffs. One of the most photogenic stops along the route.
Uspallata — A historic valley village at an altitude of 1,800 meters, inhabited by the Huarpe people, crossed by San Martín before his legendary crossing of the Andes in 1817, and later the setting for Seven Years in Tibet.
Lunch — A meal at a local restaurant, included in the sightseeing tour.
Puente del Inca — A natural rock arch bridge formed entirely by mineral hot springs, tinged with intense yellow and orange tones at an altitude of 2,720 m.
Aconcagua Provincial Park — The highlight of the day. A hike with a vantage point takes you to a spot where you can see the 6,962 m summit in its full magnitude. On a clear day, the scale is impressive.
Las Cuevas and Cristo Redentor — The last Argentine town before Chile, with seasonal admission to the historic border statue at an altitude of 3,200 m.
